Street names are checked against the County's master street dictionary and most misspellings and errors have been corrected. Street types have been standardized across the County. Address information varies in accuracy depending on the source. Address information from registered deeds and plats is highly accurate. Address information in rural and outlying areas is less accurate as it is derived from maps produced in 1988 when rural addresses were converted from rural route and box number to city-style addresses. Efforts have been made to correct the errors as resources have permitted, but the user of this information should obtain independent verification of all address data. Topological Validation on data set will be done beginning in Summer 2006. All public and private streets in Wake County that can be determined from recorded road rights-of-way are included; new streets are added within 30 days of plat recordation This dataset is based on Wake County's cadastral database. The original cadastral database delivered by the conversion vendor was compiled according to the "Technical Specifications for Base, Cadastral and Digital Mapping" (NC Land Records Management Program, NC Attorney General's Office) For updates, information from deeds and plats is digitized or entered using coordinate geometry and adjusted to the surrounding existing linework.
